Catherine is a Cestrian who moved to Hargrave in 2009 to follow her dream to live in a rural setting with her husband, Ian, multiple pets and horses.

She is a recently retired Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) professional, having worked for 35 years in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry. For the last 20 years she has been the European SHE Director for two US owned Global companies and more recently Astra Zeneca. The role has previously required extensive travel and long hours, so 2025 was an ideal opportunity to join the Parish Council and offer something back to the community alongside continuing to support local volunteer days and Happy Days.

Both Catherine and Ian have a keen interest in the environment and water quality, Ian manages a contract to monitor the River Dee for drinking water intake protection and pollution identification. They both enjoy travelling / backpacking and more recently taken to high altitude trekking in Nepal to raise funding for a Nepalese orphanage and in 2024 summited Mount Kilimanjiro along with four other Hargrave residents.
